Can I just get a WB Controller?

Right now I have the Bosch LSU4 Wideband sensor. Long story short when the tuner was tuning my brother's car it stripped on the threads a little and I ended up buying it from him for compensation.

Well I was wondering if PLX or anyother controllers come with the option of getting everything but the sensor itself.

I will probably just email some of the manufacturers but, I was wondering if anyone has experience with this and how much discount of the regular price would you guys think it would be.

Thanks

Kurt

Bosch sensors are ~$30 brand new. I hope you didnt compensate him too much.

And I hope its out of the stripped hole...and not still in your exhaust.

it's first come first serve, I may have a buyer already. If I don't I'll post in the classifieds.

Re:Can I just get a WB Controller?

Well I guess I got ripped, I never knew you could get them for $30. I've never seen them for that cheap. Not the wideband sensors anyways. The one I have says LSU 4 and has a 6-wire harness but only 5 wires.

Ya it's not on a car now, I just have it sitting in my drawer waiting for a controller to install it with.

Another quick question, I know it's harmful to leave the sensor in the exhaust with out a controller, but is it okay to run it all the time if you do have one. I plan on installing the WB sensor and controller, then just leave it installed so I can watch my A/F all the time.

Thanks for the replys
Kurt

You shouldn't leave it in all the time. Ho much did you compensate him for anyway?

Mine has been installed almost a year. The bosch sensor is stock on any of the turbo VWs for 02-03...why would he NOT be able to leave it in?

I say leave it in ALWAYS...at $30 a pop, they are easy to replace.

Looks like they have gone up a touch in the past year.

I can still get them from a local source cheaper (~$28) :)
