sorry if this is just a stupid questions, i've searched this forum but can't find the answer. can i leave my car 0bd2 and use a burner to burn my own chips. if so what program supports it? or do i have to convert to obd1

You can always try though, but I'd rather just convert to OBD1 and go from there. OBD2 is a pain

there is no way to do it unless you get a japaneese emulator. The P28 OBD 2 ECU's dident use knock sensors. They have 2 main rom chips on the board and they are VERY expensive to get the chip. they are $80 to $150 per chip. Go get a conversion harness and an OBD 1 P28 if you want to be able to chip it.

 

what car was an OBD2 p28 in? I was under the impression that a P28 was a Vtec EG's ecu which unless i am mistaken is OBD1. Was it OBD2 somewhere other then america? or what is the deal?

 

96-97 del Sol SI EDM. Its the best OBD 2 SOHC VTEC ecu

 

ooooh i want it. still have the 135 speed limit? and 7200 rev limit?

 

i've got a 97 civic ex i thought i was obd2. am i mistaken. if so kick ***. any fool proof ways to tell

 

any honda made from 96 + is OBD2.
