Ok, I'll try a slightly older version of BRE again and see what happens. I had no problems with the older version I ran, used it on the atmel 29c256 chip but I used my friend's Burn1 when I did it...so it kinda threw me off with the Willem. Thanks guys!

Well, I downloaded BRE's stable version 2.2 and reburned the bin...have to say the fuel maps look a little different between the two versions, I'll look into it a bit more. Guess I'll find out a bit more tomorrow on the test run, and I left Ben a message on pgmfi about it too...I'll keep you guys updated.

Keep it strictly about BRE and I agree. BRE needs more attention in the HMT world

and
- The map's fuel formulas for obd0 vtec have CHANGED. They are no longer
the same as the other obd0 formulas. They are now more accurate. Keep in mind
these formulas will NOT change your maps, just the way the values appear.
You will probably notice that the values are quite a bit lower. i.e. a value
of 16 ms before will probably be somewhere around 13.8ms. DO NOT COMPARE MAPS
BETWEEN OLDER VERSIONS OF BRE AND 2.2.3 OR LATER VARIANTS.

So the fuel formulas are different with the newest version, hence the different look in the maps between the 2 versions. the autotune with BRE is great I had my crx 90% tuned until the newest release, then ive had to start all over about 6 times now with my basemap...you shouldnt have many issues with the older version. hope it works out for ya!

Ok, another update...reburned the SST chip last night with older BRE ver. 2.2 and tried it out. So far, no solid cel so I know I'm burning the chip right, but the car would barely idle. I had to turn my fpr up to almost 55psi in order to get a bouncy idle out of it, and even at that it was breaking up bad at part throttle. Came back in, erased the SST and burned the bin from my 29c256 onto it and just tried it...runs exactly like the old boost bin I had before with no problems at all. Is there some kind of issue with the fuel injector sizing, or am I just some kind of idiot here? :1 Or is the injector latency from the 450's too much to idle properly without tweaking the stock fuel conversion? I'm going to try copying the fuel tables from my boost bin into the n/a bin combined with the stock timing tables and see what that produces. Also, would it make a difference if I have the checksum disabled or not? I've tried it both ways and it seems to make no difference. If none of this works I guess I'll stick the stock 240cc's in and try it. :P

One more update lol:

Pretty much copied and pasted the fuel maps from my boost bin(from the vacuum section of the map) into my n/a pr3 bin...worked like a charm. Runs great, fantastic idle, and with the extra timing it helps alot on bottom end to midrange power. Only thing was I still have the annoying 5500 rpm vtec activation point, so I tried to lower it from the stock point I left it at and I'm going to reburn again. If that doesn't work then I'm kinda stumped :P

sounds like you got it now! If you have any more issues with BRE. I can try to help. I've gotten quite familiar with BRE since my crx motor swap...
