Default bin needed

i just purchased a 1994 integra gsr. its equipped with an ls vtec conversion. crower rods, je pistons 11.5/1 compression with stock cams and valvetrain. i am having alot of trouble with it maily cause it is running on a fully stock p28 ecu. i am ordering a uberdata chip kit this weekend. is there anyone out there with a basemap to start off with. i tried 2 friends chipped ecu's. both were kenji chipped. one was bas type r. it ran well but kinda rich. the other was said to be a type r also but it made the car scream. the timing was fully advanced and the engine was knockking when i got it. we retarted the timing and ran the kenji ecu's. one made my coolant temp sonsoer cel go. the other ran perfect with no cels. my stock p28 only allows the motor to go to 7300 i belive and doesnt pull and makes the motor knock. please help

You have all sorts of issues up front. Its a GSR with no GSR motor? LS/VTEC is fine but you will need to tune your own map by A/f to actually get your car to run right. Knocking when you got it? Then the motors junk. Maybe you meant pinging. Sounds like you need to check your base timings first.

In that hodge podge os a description, it sounded like he said he had one map that "screamed" but (as CS said is probably right) pinged, I'd start with that and adjust your timing (as CS said. ).

no the knocking was like a tapping sound. when the timing was retarded it went away. aslo as long as i used my friends chipped ecu. but the car pulled hard as hell. you hear the tap when you first rev like 1000-3000 and then it goes away. we have timing dead on. but with the stock p28 ecu its tapping worse. can a timing issue actually make the motor knock or tap? we checked all the clearances in the block and all the bearings. everything looked good. if you have a bin file for a type r program please let me know

Knocking would be like a rod knock which means your bearings decided they didnt like you anymore. Pinging is predetonation. You need to describe what it is that your hearing.

no.

predetonation is redundant.

pre-ignition is the same as detonation. so basically you're calling it prepreignition.

I would reccomend getting a better handel on what exactly you have. Then look into the ECU and stuff.

well what do i do? wht do you mean get a better handle. i have inspected everything i can. i dropped the pan checked bearings and clearances. went through the head and checked that too. what else is there? i ran a thicker wieght to see if it was something in the bottom end and it didnnt go away with just thick oil. its not totally in the bottom end. cause when i retard the timing the "knock" goes away. and running a different ecu also tamed it.

you're talking about retarding timing at the distributor or with cam gears?

if cam gears, id look into bent valves.
