Default Best tuning option for a turbo PM6/D16a

I have a d16a6 with 2.5 bar map, 450cc injectors, PM6 ECU, ostrich, and a t28.

I'm trying to tune with TurboEdit, but I have 4 different versions on my machine, 3 different versions of plugins, and cannot find a "stable" version that datalogs and works with the ostrich. Although nice, I don't even need real time tuning, just the basics.

Before I get flamed, I really appreciate what TurboEdit has done, but I think that my unique combo is just making it too hard for me to use the software. I really need to tune, not debug why this version works with ostrich, but can't datalog, that version can datalog but no ostrich, etc.

Looking for suggestions for more stable software/hardware for tuning my setup. I'm willing to throw some ducats at the problem; should I convert to OBD I and use chrome? I will be getting a wideband soon, but I need to get the base hardware, software, and tune in place before I start refining.

Dude, I've been down that road, its not the installation. I've re-installed TE, windows drivers, updated firmware on ostrich, yada.

These aren't bugs specific to me, they are some known bugs. Most have a thread on pgmfi like 'ostrich not working', then 5 or 6 "me toos", a couple of suggestions that didn't work for most, and then a stale thread that never gets updated.

I develop software by day, so I really don't want to spend the time to help develop at night. I wrench because I don't want to deal with ------- computers more than I have to after work . I just want to be a lazy end user, and spent $$$ if I have to.

Again, I don't mean to sound like a hater. TurboEdit is free, and there are only so many developers to work on it.

What's your setup? Are you datalogging with the plugin?

Thanks.

Why do I need a burn1?

I have an ostrich, so I don't need chips.

What are you datalogging with? -- the ECU control plugin?

BTW: I can get the programming to the ostrich with one of the moates utils, just not through TE.
