and under what conditions do you really want the injectors working as efficiantly as possible? I just looked though some datalogs as well. wot full boost battery voltage stay around 13.5v

so im guessing im okay

as long as the battery offset is stable

Re: Battery Voltage at WOT

what I meant by efficiently refers to use of space in the design. Power=voltage * current. Higher currents necessitate thicker wiring and generate more heat through resistive losses. By running the injectors at max voltage less current is needed to obtain the same power and the internal wiring can be made smaller without increasing the heat generated (diminishing the duty cyle). Smaller wiring means it can be wrapped more times, each turn of wire increases the magnetic force on the pintle.

That's one reason why saturated injectors aren't limited to 5 volts.

Peak and hold injectors could probably be operated on a regulated 5V source, but for whatever reason this is always left up to an external resistor box and the ECU still sends out max voltage. I guess to maintain compatibility with either style.

It uses max voltage to cut down on dwell time. But back on the subject I don't think the alternator shuts off at wide open throttle. I may be wrong but I doubt it.
