I dunno, I'll do it for like 12 bucks or something.
I had planned on having my obd1 ecu chipped and run my setup off of a basemap, but if it is not safe like xenocron is saying "Definition: Will start the car and get you to the tuner. Do not boost, do not rape on the motor...pretend you were your Grandma while you drive. If anything happens and you dont follow this advice...and ---- blows. You are SOL." maybe this isnt the way to go.

The point is that unless you are running a wideband in your car when you put in that basemap...you dont know ----. I have certainly had many customers (im sure) run forever on basemaps, rape the ---- out of there motors and nothing bad comes of it. I do have to cover my *** in the worse case scenario but I will attempt to claim that after chipping 500+ ECUs and setting each of them up with a basemap, I believe there is a certain knack for it, and 8 times out of 10, I dont hear anything but praise about the basemap that starts and runs a customers cars. The other 2 times, they usually ask why it is running so bad...and it almost always turns out to be an issue or problem with the car...not the ECU or basemap. Now I cant claim to have a perfect record by any means...but its darn good.

BUT STILL...unless you KNOW what your AFRs are...if you rip on your motor on a basemap, you could be asking for trouble.

Chris knows whats up. Dont expect a simialr set up to react like another simple idea. Want to do it right have it tuned by someone with background and a wideband, thats why there are tuners.
