Re:AFC retarding my timing?
Chip the ECU for your retard.
The BTM doesn't retard enough during the lower boost numbers where your ignition maps are most advanced. Retarding the distributor will work for the short term, but it's going to make your car a dog off boost, and won't give optimum ignition maps.

Re:AFC retarding my timing?
Yes and no.
Which OBD2 ECU you have determines whether or not it can be chipped, and it would run you a grip of money if it can. It's not an easy thing to do like the earlier ECUs.
Converting to OBD1 is a valid alternative.

Re:AFC retarding my timing?
I have an obd 0 b16a1 (PW0 or PR3 ecu) who makes or sells the chip that will retard the timing so I can use the afc "Hack" with dsm 450cc injectors. Also does anyone know if ghettodyne will work with these ecu's.

Re:AFC retarding my timing?
i have a 91 si. im gonna run a d16z6 with 12 with my si ecu and use the v-afc i was gonna run the btm too, but as i have found out, the btm is useless with the afc. so i will be obd-0 so how can i get a chip that will retard the timing and will it be enough so i wont need to worry about the timing? i want to know where and how much i can get a chip for.
