Default afc questions

I have heard many people talk about the vtec engagement on the civics. (d16z6 in particular) My vafc has the settings to engage at 5500rpm. I believe this is the stock setting that the vafc is set at. I am not looking to change the vtec point, but rather, just to make it at the stock engagement. I am not asking to tune the afc.

Does anyone know the point at which the vtec should engage on the civic ex (d16z6). I have read 4800, 5000, 5200, and 5500. This is where I am getting confused at the real engagement point.

One more question. When I set the vtec engagement point. How much of a difference should I have between the x-over?

Thanks for the help.

I believe the VTEC point was 5800rpms on the P28.

As for your difference, I always just set it at 200rpms.

Thanks for the help.

I was unsure if the vafc was set at a certain x-over. or if it read it from the ecu and that is what it was set at. I just recently installed in my car and have not tuned it yet.

I will definately be sure to check out the faq for the settings though for the tuning.. Thanks again.
