Default Adding a Knock Monitor. Is the S-AFC good for somthing?

My 93 Ford Escort does not use knock sensor at all. Does the S-AFC knock display feature require that the ECU came equiped with a knock sensor from the factory? Or can I just grab a knock sensor from a differenet motor and mount it to my block and wire it up to a S-AFC and have it work?

I read this from a S-AFCII ad: "Real time knocking monitor for vehicles equipped with a factory knock monitor." So does that mean it just need's a knock sensor to wire into, or does it mean the AFC get's the knock amount from the car's ECU and the AFC just display's what the ECU tell's it?

Can a AFC atomaticly add fuel when the O2 voltage dips too low while in boost/load?

Thanks.

My 90 civic doesn't use a knock sensor at all either, I don't care!

You don't need one if you know how to tune.

I've been using my ear's to listen for deto for 2 years. I'm ready to get a little more agressive.

So does any one know if the S-AFC can just be wires into a knock sensor, with out the stock ECU having it from the factory?

I believe it is going to need some type of voltage controller. After I read this post I did a search and found on a Grand national Web site a link to this. It's a DIY Know Sensor Display for and LED, But if you build this for a few buck, I'm sre you would then be able to use the AFC to read the knock voltages.
