6 PSI and I still get raped
MY boost guage says I am at 6-7 psi and I do not really feel all that much power. My bud has a similar engine and about the same boost and his car pulls alot harder than mine. The only thing I can think of is that his fuel management is better than mine, I have a Vortech FMU and he has an AFC. But he said when he was running with a Vortech he was making pretty much the same power as he is now. Hell I even have VTEC and he does not, so him raping me is a mystery to me. My car has like 200k km on it and his probally 75k km on it. Does proper fuel management really make alot more power at the same boost level? I am thinking about turning up my boost because even at 7psi I hear no pinging, infact I think I am running too rich with just the shitty Vortech. I just do not know what is wrong, I just feel like I should be making alot more power than I am. Here is basically what I have, please give me pointers.
1993 HOnda Del So
SOHC D16z with Vtec
200k km on engine
Greddy Manifold
TD04H turbo (almost drand new, no play)
Vortec FMU
Non Intercooled.
PVC charge Pipes.

Non-IC can make just as much power - many many IC setups lose more in restriction than they gain in dropped charge temps.
Say, do you have an Autometer boost gauge? I touched a "10 psi" turbo ZC 'rex a week ago that dyno'd 138 to the wheels. When the car rolled up into my driveway, it was making 2-3 psi... the junk Autometer was reading 4-5 psi with the engine off, and the wastegate signal was taken from the turbine scroll instead of the intake manifold - guy was dropping about 4 psi across his IC and charge pipe.

Re:6 PSI and I still get raped
The AFC and FMU do make a difference better fuel tuning with the AFC ..you can make more power with it. Could be to that your engine is raped..do a comprasion test...his is almsot new. And vtec doesn't make much difference on a boosted vtec SOHC vs a non-vtec SOHC. Turbo size is also a factor...and what car does he have?? the Delsol is pretty heavy IMO.
