Default 450cc inj. + FTC/SMC + adj. FMU

I've been on this site for about a week now and i must say that i've learned quite a lot from reading the posts. This site has convinced me to sell my b16'd 97 civic and do a custom turbo setup on a 88-91 civic/crx.

I purchased a MSD BTM and a Car Tech adjustable FMU a few days ago. I should've researched my options a bit more but I guess i was a little anxious to start up my turbo project.

I am going to run my stock fuel pump and fuel pressure with my turbo setup.

For fuel management, my engine will be supported by a set of DSM 450cc injectors + a trailer park afc/SMC + and my newly purchased Cartech adjustable FMU.

Are there any problems with the FTC? How do u tune with it? Does a SMC and AFC differ in tuning capabilities?

What PSI could i run on this setup with tuning involved?

And is an adj. FMU called a SFMU?

ok.. you wont be running at stock pressure if you use a stock pump and an FMU. The FMU raises the fuel pressure.

You dont even need the FMU if you are using 450's and a AFC.

the AFC tricks the ECU so it lets more fuel into the cyl by holding the injectors open longer at stock fuel PSI.

the FMU ups the fuel PSI at the same open time adding more fuel that way.

I am by no means a super expert. But I am pretty confident you dont need both and the AFC is the better choice.

oh, and BTW, what is a FTC?

Hey,

If im not mistaken a FTC is the trailerpark afc...I think thats what everyone is referring to it as. Correct me if i'm wrong

This is what i want to do. I want to run a smaller disc 4:1 maybe (any recommendations?)...with an afc/smc and dsm 450 cc injectors.
