I use uberdata, but I am always down for learning new things about tuning. Maybe someday I will get a CRX and then this turboedit stuff will come in handy. I will probably drop in sunday. :)

I'm in also, but could we try to keep this one in English? :-\ I thought it was going to be a "TurboEdit for dumbfucks", and it was at the beginning, but if you look in the log it clearly shows it was transformed into some weird ---- at the middle/end. :-\

We'll try our best Dr...sometimes its hard when you get those brainiacs in there trying to take over your class ::)

Please list any specific questions or topics you would like to see covered.

That might help me organize it a little better.

One thing i'd like to see is to start from scratch (using a stock pm6 or pr4 bin) and create a basemap for boost. Show us a scenario. And also let say you wanna use tune maps for b18 to a d16 (what kind of changes need to be done and what need to be take into consideration).

Well sorry if I make it sound like you should be catering to me and only me, but from the beginning I was told it was a "basic" class. I'm sure there are far more people on my level, then there are on the "braniac" level and if TurboEdit is going to take on more users, it needs to be explained to the beginers. It's not my class and I have nothing to do with the way it's ran, but I figured I would throw my suggestions in the mix. Sorry if you were offended....

Like what was said above, I would like to see a base map created and explained. Give a situation and show us how to incorporate tuning into the mix, unless that's far too basic..... :-\

Re:2ndLive TurboEdit 101 Class This Sunday 4/25

Yea, count me in again too. I agree with the Boost-meister on it being kept a little more basic. Maybe once there is a better understanding of the whole process, we could move into some more advanced topics. One thing I can think of which would be lot of work on someones part, would be to make up a learning guide or something like that (in PDF format) that we could download and use as a reference or something to that effect. So we can learn a little more between sessions. Just a thought.

Re:2ndLive TurboEdit 101 Class This Sunday 4/25

I never got to ask if the romulator tuning is available for use now, or if that was some future thing?

In the next class I also want to learn how to make a base map, tune it visually on the program, and then also I'd like to learn the steps you would advise someone as far as street tuning and that whole process.

Also, I think it would be alot easier if you picked a basic scenerio, and stuck with it the whole class. Same scenerio all class. ;)

PureCRXtasy 04-21-2004 08:45 PM

Re:2ndLive TurboEdit 101 Class This Sunday 4/25

The romulator works now, but it's $180. The RTP board from pgmfi will be working shortly and is only $35, but you have to solder it together.

Re:2ndLive TurboEdit 101 Class This Sunday 4/25

Dr., I was in no way offended...I'm confused on why you thought I was...I was saying that Jason & Dave, who are on a different level from even myself get very technical which I think looses people quickly...especially those that need the basics and dont feel comfortable with the program. This is the whole reason I wanted to create this class.

I think covering a scenario from start of the basemap to in car tuning would be good...thats what we will do.

Does anyone know how to create a chat in AIM that allows people to add themselves to the chat, without me having to do it? Last time people came late or kept getting disconnected and needed to be reconnected...that would help if anyone knows.

I can also install PHPMyChat on PGMFI, or anything else that runs on y00n1x. If there are any advanced topics ppl want covered or re-explained, mention now so I have a lil time to prep.

Re:2ndLive TurboEdit 101 Class This Sunday 4/25

I think the class was bit disorganized, but for the first one it was fine. I believe that some ground rules need to be set so only 1 person is speaking at a time. If you have 4-5 different people with different questions/agendas it gets really confusing really quick. I think an irc chat would be a better solution because the ops would have more control over who gets to speak and when and we could whip up a script to queue when there are questions so only one persons question is addressed at a time. At the very least, the ability to voice/devoice people while the presenter is speaking would serve to eliminate a good deal of the confusion/chatter going on.

Re:2ndLive TurboEdit 101 Class This Sunday 4/25

I say we just use IRC with a damn java IRC client. :-/

This way, server ops can moderate the channel (+m) and open the channel for questions and such. There is no limitation on the amount of users. And the client can be setup to automatically join the channel and server. So all the user would have to do is type in a username, and click "Connect" to join the chat. No software to download, no install, no nothing. ::)

Something similar to what I setup on HomemadeTurbo a long time ago.
