Am I missing something? My programmer (Xeltek Superpro II) will burn 27c256's all day long, but I keep getting programming errors with 29c256's. I have no idea what's wrong. Any ideas? I've tried 2 different chips with no results.

 

I'm unfamiliar with your burner. Are you changing settings between the 27C256 and 29C256 chips? They don't burn in exactly the same way.

If I select Auto mode (blank check, program, verify), It will blank check and program ok, but fails the verify every time.

Any ideas? 2 different 29c256's, BTW

 

Ok, I think I got it. I think the checksum was all fooked up. I ran a fill on the .bin before I programmed it, and now it's ok.

 

You have to burn 29c256 at 5V's and the 27C256 are burned at 12.5V's

 

oops, I lied. It still won't run. It's the gay Uberdata software now.

 

sounds to me like you don't know wtf you're doing.

29C256 require block erase, slow programming and 5V programming voltage. Not all programmers support them. I've discovered this the hard way.

As for the gay uberdata software, what are you trying to do? I've played with it quite a lot and can probably help.

 

Everytime I try to burn a 29c256 in my programmer with the Uberteg .bin (Xeltek Superpro II), it erases ok before programming, programs ok, but fails when it goes to verify a good program. I ran the fill option on my programmer (Accounts for one spaces, etc) and it programs just fine. Unfortunately, nothing will burn when using an Uberdata .bin, but burns just fine using a Hondata .bin.
