Default 02 civic D17, what is the best option for EM?

I'm assuming this cannot be converted to obd1 since this is distributorless, I've been searching but every time I get brought back to some usless honda-tech thread. Just looking for the best bang for the buck option to tune this thing.

I do like megasquirt but only if i'm able to use the ford ignition that makes it so easy, I think it would be a bitch with the coil packs.

AEM F/IC is what I would go with and then get a boomslang harness done for that ecu so there is no splicing and what not. I have tuned several with this system and its very robust for what it is.
And under $380 for a unit plus the harness seems like a good route.

If you have to run a piggyback, the FIC is intelligently designed and will get the job done. They can even spoof factory wideband signals for vehicles that tune for stoich during lower rpm WOT like Scions.

only thing about the FIC is that it cannot advance ignition timing.

U are correct on that one, only retards timing, so if its NA where timing adv. will nicely be needed y have yourself a glorified AFC.
