$5 dollar programmer!!!
I was wondering if you guys had heard about this. Basically you use a 3c905b 3com nic card and then boot your computer with a linux boot floppy and use the NIC card to burn a standard EEPROM.
Check it out. |
Re: $5 dollar programmer!!!
Not a whole lotta info there buddy :P Anywhere else we can read up on this?

Re: $5 dollar programmer!!!
Sounds like I'd rather spend $50 on a Willem than go through that.
Better yet, spend $100 on a Moates Burn1 and have no hassles. |
Re: $5 dollar programmer!!!
I got a couple of these cards. I am gonna give it a try in a week or so as soon as I get some chips.

Burn 1 FTW!

Re: $5 dollar programmer!!!
Yeah I read about that like 2 yrs ago. Never tried it and bought a willems instead. I read it will work though
|
Re: $5 dollar programmer!!!
It's not worth the hassle. For $50, just get the Willem. There is a thread on pgmfi about it as well. If you have one of the cards laying around and a spare computer to test on, go for it, but once you start burning a lot of chips, you'll want something better.
