yeah definitely want to hit 5 pounds in the 2-2.5k range in this truck, its a 97 wrangler by the way. From what I have read a turbo actually increases the overall gas mileage in these trucks, I assume because they are dogs and you pretty much run these thing wide open all the time to get where you are going especially on the highway, I guess due to the higher dynamic compression ratio when under boost gives you an increase in efficiency. He doesnt tow anything but it has body and suspension lift and bigger tires. My last last HMT style turbo was a 14b I bolted onto a 2.4 galant and It was a bit too small but had awesome response. I assume something a little larger than that 14b would be perfect, internally gated would simplify installation but I am going to need to point the hot side inlet down though. There is tons of room in between the radiator and front of the engine so I think that is where it will sit. For 3k I could get this kit here
