I am not a body builder I lift to stay in shape and feel good, and also I like to be confident enough that I can go to the beach and not wear a moo moo because I am a fat *****.
you ever notice when you max out benching, you feel it in your tri's and delt's? b/c they're secondaries, you're routine is ----, bottom line, you can disagree all you want so you don't have to admit you're wrong, but even if you weren't working secondaries the next day, giving your muscles one day to rest still is no where near enough. do whatever you want, but really, that's garbage :P
Well I have almost zero body fat, I consider myself VERY fit and I can hold my own when it comes to weight lifting. My method seems to be working pretty damn good. I dont know for sure but if that is your in the picture I wouldnt be talking to me about working out. I think that one of the leading track coach for Queens University knows what she is talking about. I was not aware that you were this almighty workout machine. I dont do "max" I work out to look and feel good. I dont see how I am wrong? I have a great body and I feel great so what is 'wrong' with that. And fork how am I working out the same muscle three days a week please point this out for me.

bahhahaha.

you are my idol.

my stepdad drinks 2-3 times a week, and downs anywhere from 12 to 18 beers. he also works out 3-4 times a week. he's 40 something and still gaining loads of muscle mass, on top of his ~190lbs on a 5'8" frame.

ok here we go.

i am also a bodybuilder. im sure any one of you who knew me would call me hardcore, as this is all i do. my life revolves around it.. to be honest. i never drink for the reasons listed earlier (dehydration, slowing of metabolism) and also the lowered testosterone levels excessive alcohol will give me, as well as that - it would put me in a state of catabolism.

i know a LOT of theory haha. so let me just say - you dont know anything. this routine is ridiculous. you are skinny as well, you need some mass.
benching does use secondary muscles and dont post otherwise.
so do back exercises..

you are grossly overtraining your arms and i bet they're about 12 inches big (or should i say 12 inches small).

your lack of diet and excessive overtraining means the body has burnt off all its fat for energy.. but you wont' gain. anyone can go train everyday and get like you. but they'll turn skinny like you as well. plus, you'll be a weakling

one muscle group once a week. do it. it takes 5 - 7 days for a fully exhausted muscle group to recover.

complex (simple only really for b'fast and PWO) carbs, and fats.. are as important as protein. if you eat lots of protein (which i bet none of you do anyway) then you need lots of carbs as well, though this depends on your metabolism

basically, i don't lift anymore because i have a full time job, a side business and a family, so no, i don't have time to hit the gym, but hey whatever makes you feel good about your workout, but you're definitely wasting your time with that routine and not getting maximum results that you could with just spending half the time in the gym, and you said it yourself that you work chest m/w/f, i believe that's three times a week tell the track coach to get fucked, it sounds like you're getting you're advice from a ****.

boosthappy - i do lots of weight. less weights will get your muscles toned and in shape, so dont just hop on and bench 5 million lbs.

Everyone says eat alot of protein, but its so much harder then u think. taking the shakes, + food and whatnot is really hard. I think it like 1-1.5 grams per lb of body weight. i weigh 185 and its very hard to eat that in protein. 2 shakes in a day = 60 grams (about?) + food intake. you really need to eat just about every 2 hours in order to do that.

Lie it was said as well, you need lots of things beside protein including fats. dont think the only thing u can eat is steak and chicken. Eat lots and often, but just dont make every meal be McDonalds, and dont eat candy bars and ---- food all the time, although dont cut out it totally.

alcohol is a diuretic (like caffine which ehnaces water loss) and also a poison to your body. while its fighting to get rid of it during and after you night at the local watering hole (i.e. the hangover), it cant metabolise fat. hence most or all the calories you ate that night or already have is stored as fat.

one book i have on strength training quoted it like this:

"Which is more important to you: drinking suds or being a stud?"

P.S. no im not a bodybuilder by any stretch (5'9' 175-190lbs depending on season). when im not juggling a full time service tech job at the honda dealership with snowboarding, skateboarding and mountain biking, i workout pretty hard three days a week and do cardio on off days. i consume a diet for the most part that packed with lots of protien, complex carbs and a good dose of healthy fats. again, im not a bodybuilder but i have friends and know people who are (both juiced and natural) and bottom line from what ive read, seen and heard myself is excessive drinking only harms your gains.

besides, who wants to work out on a hangover or just have a hangover period

6'2 and 175lbs is not skinny as hell. My routine works for me whether or not your agree with it or your THEORY agrees with it. I curl 120lbs and I bench 205lbs I am very happy with that I may not be the biggest guy in the gym no but for my body weight I am fairly strong. I feel great too, I am not sore and I asked my doctor as well about working muscles and how often is too often and he agrees for partial recovery to keep the muscles in good health that 48 hours is sufficient.
