Look at other places.A liscensed journeyman here can make between $17-$21 and hour.Thats not bad considering you can get a brand new 3 bed,2 bath,2000-2500sqft house for $110K.I do all my shopping at Wallmart and spend $80 a week for food and such.To me it even seems like cloths is a little cheaper.I think its verry cost effective to live here.Plus its a nice enviernmet for my son to grow up.
As far as planning your life, you cant.Life just happens.

PS, if property jumped that much in price in 5 years, guess what it'll be worth in another 5? Go ahead and buy an expensive house, it'll pay for itself.

Sometimes I need reminding
Regret is so blinding
But like I told me don't dwell -311
Move to a place where you would love to live, and go. Don't limit yourself by staying complacent in a place you know. Once you read the book rich dad/poor dad, you'll realize that owning houses and being smart with money doesn't require much money at all. Oh, and when I'm 30 I want to be Raffi. For a mexican, he sure is a white boy.
