right now i am running a NA 1.8 Liter 16v

But i have some parts laying around waiting to be put together:

2.0 16v (9a) w/ 9.0:1 CR je pistons the head was sent out to 034efi for p&p and knife edge
Im going to be running 034efi for Standalone bbm fuel rail w/ 42 pound injectors replaces the CIS
Full Billet aluminum pulley (under drive, water pump, and alternator)
Auto Tech Adjustable Cam gear (full aluminum) as well as aluminum intermediate shaft gear
I just picked up a nice turbonetics t3 manifold (only paid 170 bucks for it)
Im planning on running a Tbird compressor i don tknow too much about it .. but i know it'sa a Warner-ishi IHI i think that is a 45 trim .48/.60 i just figured you got a 2.3 liter 4 banger pushing 190 hp so that should do fine for my 2.0 i dont know i have alot of stuff on the way and ready for the build up... should be fun....

how much power are you shooting for? sounds like a fun project. some inspiration

vw's are great cars! dont ever doubt them they will last forever if you do simple maintance. they are a little harder to modify because you cant just chip your ECU, and the aftermarket parts scene is a lot more low key (ie. less advertising, less magazine full page adds) and there is a lot more people doing custom maching and stuff to make their performance parts..... awesome cars, the 16v is an awesome var, the 2l and the 1.8 16v are almost the same, the 2l has shitty flowing intake ports and awesome exhaust, and the 1.8 has shitty exhaust but awesome intake ports, the intake manifold is a little hard to deal with if you wanna kep the over head design, if thats teh route you want a 50mm runner one will fix you up good and if not you will have to switch to a log style one which you will more than likely have to change your TB, the TB on the stock 16v is fucked and useless, there is no real need for teh second butterfly valve, find a 12v VR6 TB and you're set

Well intake manifold wise im actually going to be chopping a 1.8t manifold and welding it onto the 16v lower intake runners so first of all it give me more room for boost piping and then it changes my inlet over to the right side, ya ya i can do that with a rocca 16v manifold but the 1.8t has a larger plenem ... as for the shitty flowing intake ports on the 2.0 head hehe that is why it was sent out to 034... yeah you can port out the 1.8 head more because more room to work w/ (water jacket wise)... Power wise im aiming for about 250 horsepower honestly i dont want to be crazy fast or anything i just want some more power and anything is fine with me

As for throttle bodys... im just going to use the 1.8t throttle body because i need somethign w/ tps for the standalone....

And yes sailman is right, volkswagens tend to be a little more work to modify... you cant just go down to the local Autozone and purchase parts for them. The main source for parts is other volkswagen drivers manufacturing products in their garage....

the 1.8t chop is exactly what i woudl do myself, good choice, the only thing you have to worry about is getting good weld when you do it, ive heard some bad stories, theres something about the metal that makes it not wanna take without really good prep work

Yeah it is a little hard welding forged aluminum together but i know a guy in Fresno, CA (not too far from me) that can do it very easily
