Wheel spin effect on ET and 60ft times.

Wheel spin effect on ET and 60ft times.
Was having a debate today while we where out shoping for new mag wheels and rubebrs for the car.
We went up to the largest rubbers suported on the factory rims. And have realised the only way forward to better rubbers is to change the wheels.
The argument is wether wheel spin is good or bad for yoru quater mile times.
The options where
1. Car shuold have no wheel spin for best launch
2. Car should have some wheel spin at launch or it will stall / fall on its face.
Which argument is right.

Re: Wheel spin effect on ET and 60ft times.
people run slicks to eliminate wheelspin. wheelspin is the best way to kill your 60 ft time subsequently killing your run.
if your car falls on its face with no wheelspin, you shouldnt even be racing it. cause its probably a hyundai elantra riced the ---- out....

Re: Wheel spin effect on ET and 60ft times.
When I raced na I needed some wheel spin, I was using hankook ventus tires :P
I used the same tires last time I went to the track and I had to do 1500 rpm drops and they still spun like crazy which gave me terrible 60ft times so I guess the wheel spin issue depends on power of the car.

You'll run faster slipping the clutch instead of wheelspin. Use the clutch to control bog/power delivery.
Not that I cut 1.75" 60ft's all day or anything on my 195 wide all season street tires, so probably disregard my opinion on this subject.
