BHP explanation http://www.scca-enterprises.com/tech/tb0107-hp.html

Basically BHP is a measurement of an engine's horsepower under SAE standard testing(Air pressure, density, temperature, etc). Measured at the crank.

WHP is horsepower at the wheels. Usually used to show a modified engine/car's HP from dyno charts.
New car specs are usually in BHP.

Brake Horsepower comes from the type of dyno used by the OEM's with the engine out of the car. They use a brake to put load on the engine to measure it's power.
