^^ Exactly. 10K and I'd still feel kinda ripped off. What the ---- is with all that damn wiring loom on everything in the engine bay? That looks nasty and totally cheesy. Not to mention that tossed together wiring job.

Cool cool. All valid points. So some people think it's a worthy classic and he can ask enough for it to somewhat recoup his costs of the body restoration and some feel it's a hack job not worth much. I do have to admit I'm not overly impressed with the motor/tranny stuff, but the body on it was done right and at huge expense. Just the paint was $8k. The thing was taken down fully into pieces and totally redone, so to me that's what sets it apart from the other non-restored/non-original 65's in the $8-10k range. If you do a quick search and see what 65's are going for in far worse condition, you may change your tune a little, maybe not.

Yeah, you said that already. So I'm curious though, why are they so bad? I thought they turned out just fine for a $150 digi cam. Obviously they're not Nikon D-50 super baller pimp, but do they not accurately portray the car? Or do you mean pics of other stuff like the trunk and interior, and underbody?

Also, let me get this straight for you guys again. I'm not at all claiming this is a special car or that it's worth a certain amount. That's why I started this thread in the first place. It's a clean car and in excellent shape and went through some expensive and significant work. I really don't care if it's worth $5k or $25k, I just want to know what it's worth before I list it, and so far this thread hasn't been too helpful because it's some of both lol.

Here's one on ebay that looks to be in the same sort of shape and upgraded the same amount and it's $20k.

Honestly, what it looks like to me is that the market is saturated with "restored" Mustangs, 65's at that, and it's really a toss up as to what you'll get for it. All the guys on ebay are asking top dollar and none of their reserves are met, so if I offer it with a reserve of $16k we'll see what happens. It might totally not happen, or it may sell for $18k. I'll let you all know what happens.

I wouldn't sell yourself short. The Mustang that sold for $18k here wasn't even restored, had no matching numbers and still needed some work. The interior needed a headliner, door panels and I think some other ----. The motor was built pretty good and it had an expensive manual tranny. None of the chrome was even on the car.
