I personally had high hopes of knowing low 14s and MAYBE hitting 13s. Now, I am not so sure it will even thought many others think it will or say the set-up will. I just don't see lower 60's cutting it into 13s, but how do I trap 99mph at 14.8? If I got traction I'd trap around 101mph right?

i guess thats not that bad of a launch 1st time at the track.those lights are trickynot like a flager, lol

hmm, not bad times but you could deffiently be alot faster if you just got those 60ft times down. When i ran a 14.8 my 60ft times were like 2.3 on mixed and matched bald tires, but i think my horribly slipping clutch actually helped me because i wasnt able to spin the tires lmao. Just practice and learn how to drive at the track. Im still trying to learn how to drive with the extra power lol.

BTW: what is the altitude at the track you raced?

I have no clue. We're not in the mountains but not exactly flat. The best run was at 74 degrees, 29 barometer, and 29 humidity. What if I didn't smash it in first and kinda' built some boost, but never actually hit full boost in first. I lose tire pretty easy. Just curious NOW if anyone actually is full throttle in first even. This is nothing like driving N/A.

If the tires are screeching, but the rpms aren't flying to redline - they are fluctuating in the midrange as the tires scramble for traction - then hold into it. Sure, you need better tires and suspension work, but that's as good as you're going to get. If it's just spin-city and the tach seeks redline you're wasting time + need to feather throttle.

As you drop your ETs, your traps will drop as well. Not go up.

this ---- is dling so ------- slow. i havent watched the video yet. buy some bfg's or slicks and call it a day :P

edit: watched the video. looks like you were spinning way to much off the line. i would try and work on your launch. just go to the back roads and try different launch points and techniques and go from there.

Bingo! Going to go today while my buddy rides shotgun watching the rpms/boost gauge as I can't watch everything. I'm going to try the JD method and hold the E-brake and let the clutch out a little to get it ready to go and practice dropping the brake, leaving it down slow, clutch positions, throttle positions, etc. I could try to get some video of it today also to see if that would help. Thanks to everyone for contributing to my driving or lack there of.

not always correct, 99mph at 14.6, bbka traps 12.4 at what was it 110+? 98ctr got 11.6 at 124mph... then drag cars get 5.4's at 200+ mph. so i wouldn't say when et's drop so do trap speeds.. buttt maybe im wrong?

Yea, I'm with you it would go up my guess. Why? You have traction and are putting the power down to the ground and.........moving faster. Umm, Yea. I forgot the cam, but I think I'll do what boostedz6 said and just tape and watch. Anyway, I tried the E-Brake deal, and I'll need a vid to explain it cuz I don't see how that's gonna help. I can acutally get it to be like a FTL with like 1-2psi of boost on the line with the clutch ALL THE WAY OUT! I don't know. Maybe I'm gay? Tried 3 pedal launch. That's hard. LOL.

No. For a given setup, the better you launch it so the lower your ET, then you get a lower trap speed, too.
