Played with the car today....
got some work done, more test fitting (reading as trying to install, getting pissed, realizing i have the wrong parts) with the cooling system and intake. also gutted the car. nothing left from the dash back except the door panels. i was trying to installed my new shifter assem (car was originally and auto), and realized the tranny i bought wasn't from an e28 as i was told, it's from an e32 (mid-80's 7 series). it's already mated to the engine, so that's not an issue, just all the shift linkage i bought doesn't work.... anyway, here are some pics.
btw, for those of you who aren't up to date, i'm putting an M30 (3.5L straight 6) into an E30 (86 BMW 325).
we don't need no stinkin' interior!!!
can you say close fit

Re: Played with the car today....
yeah, we are working on installing some torque chains that will run from the motor mounts backwards to the frame rail, this will still alow the engine to torque in a circle, but during heavy brakeing will stop it from traveling forward. also, a note on those HP rating i mentioned, those are factory tune... i'll be running MSnS EDIS, so i should be able to add some more onto that. my goal is to hit 10:1 weight to hp. i want to get that car down to 2500 pounds (factory was 2700), so i'll probably be boosting it to make those numbers. there's a bolt-on kit for the M30 engine (when it's installed in a 5 series) to take it to 450hp, so i should be able to hit 400 easily with a HMT.
