Yeah, you should go, the only thing you have to lose is 4 worthless years of your life being miserable. I guess it really could be worse, but nothing in life is above being honest and happy.
But, when you go to the "clinic" to line up single file for those shots, make sure you follow the damn directions:

line up, take your first step to the first nurse, take one in the right shoulder, take one step, take one in the left. Repeat instructions until you've been hit 4 times in each shoulder with every step. At the end of the line you'll see a desk about waste high, bend your *** over that so the last nurse can put the penecilin (sp) shot in your ***. You'll swear she just stabbed you with a number 2 pencil, but don't worry trainee, it wasn't. After all of that, take a breath and be glad it's over. Wait, your not done, you still have to go sit in that chair and give two pints before your done. And as your sitting in that chair, think about all the needy people you'll be helping with your blood. After that, march your *** home. At this point you won't be marching to cadance, you'll be marching to stealthmodes lessons about going to the military when your heart isn't in it. [/whisper/]The military doesn't own you, stealthmode does [/whisper/]

Stealth thats fucked up just cause you didnt like it doesnt mean he wont. The kid was already scared now hes prolly pissin himself. Its not like he can think for himself as it is, seeing as his girlfirend made him sign up so the military is the perfect place for him he will get told what to do nonstop for a few months.

Your own words are the reason why you shouldn't go. You're already having doubts, and going in with these doubts it will make it twice as bad as the guy that wanted to go. When it comes to going to the military (a.k.a. Uncle Sams Day Care Center) or being a happy trash man in your local small town, you make the decision.
I know from being there, and the doubts that your having you shouldn't go. Think of this as stealthmodes way of giving you guidence.

Donald, you have to speak English if you want to haunt people.

Tell your friend "Welcome back to 4 years ago, stupid. Now get your *** to school like you should of done the first time".

where is the other thread i responded in. I have been doing this ---- for 3.5 years in the Marine Corps...im not gonna go through the speech again.

it sounds like you dont wanna go though, and if you go with that attitude, you will be that much worse off.

stealth had a bad experience and he has his reasons and i respect that, and i would probably have the same words to say had i had a bad experience.

i have had just as many bad experiences that still **** me off to this day but equally i have just as many good experiences. the time i spent in spanish ----- houses are priceless

the benifits, let me put it to you this way: my mom ownes a mcdonalds in indiana. she gives her full time employies better benifits than the military does me. i could elaborate...

the pay, well my wife and i live paycheck to paycheck - loan to loan. its not the way i enjoy living. i could elaborate...

once you are in, its like another job, but 9 times out of 10, you work 10-12 hour days. if you figure it up, you make about $6 an hour. i made more money than that workin at arbys as a sophmore in highschool. look up military pay charts on google. you will be an e1 or e2 with 1 year time in grade. look it up. you will make about 1400 a month your first year. i could elaborate....

ohh yeah, on the GI bill, im workin on getting that going right now. from what im finding out, the gi bill will give you UP TO $50,000 right. well how that works, you get like $600 a month while you are in school. if you go to a 4 year school, yeah, you will see that money. my school, wyo tech is a 9 month tech school and it costs $22K. the military isn't even gonna cover my living expenses.

i could go on and on...tell you alot more shitty things than better.

if i were in your shoes and gonna do it all over again, if you wanna go to school, take out a loan and go to school. live life man, dont go to the military.

if you really wanna do to the military, be ready to go to the desert.

I wouldn't say my experience was a bad one, it just wasn't for me. It was actually the best and worst experience for me. The worst because there's nothing like being owned 24 hours a day by people who treat you like a little kid. (even at tech school) And it was the best because it made me realize that no matter how great other people (and yourself) think it is for you to serve the country,(or whatever it is) it doesn't mean ---- if you truely aren't happy there. Apply that to life in every aspect, and you might not be colon powell, but you'll truely be happy.

you are 100% correct.
i have met people in the Marine Corps, some people love the military, would want nothing more than to be fighting in a war, they love being told how to live every second of there life, how to walk...everything. I have met people who just hate life, want nothing to do with the military period. They do the bare minimum with everything they do...just that kind of person.

At the time i came into the MC, June of 01, I couldnt hold down a job, my friends were getting me into trouble, helping me make bad decisions...etc. etc. so I just up and one day went to the recruiters and said take me away. about 6 weeks after that, I find myself in Boot Camp thinkin what the ----...!

I think of my time in the Marine Corps as time well spent. It has made me a much better person, I have alot more values/morals in life. I have alot better out look on alot of things in life. I have done my time with Honor, kept my nose clean and proud of what I have done. Im getting the ---- out though.

Would I do it all over agian...I dont know. I probably would've gotten myself a loan and went to school, and left home and tried to grow up on my own - had i thought things through before i just went to the recruiters office. No one influenced my decision.

its all up to you man. you do what makes you happy, make your own decisions. you are an age in your life where you need to make your own decisions. you can ask for advice, but when it comes down to it...its all up to you. i wouldnt let some girlfriend influence your decisions. a wife or wife material, maybe. but not a girlfriend.
