good to see that someones acually selling a product for what its worth not getting fat off the ignorance of the import culture that will pay any amount of money for somthing with a brand name stamped into it, even if its made by little asian boys in a sweat shop with no quality control. HT and anyother site that has to cover up there posts and hide ---- from the people have been driving me crazy lately the mods think they are the ---- and thats why there seems to be little progression with anything anymore its all based off fuckery product reviews and kiss *** from friends. i want a product that preforms and costs what it should. you dont see that many old school v8 guys buying 1,000 exhaust pipes the companys know they have the market on this scene and are exploiting the fact that many kids in it dont know the value of the product they are buying. some of the words were touching in the post i would buy from this guy just because he said he catered to the guys that dont have enough for the expensive things but still offers a very soild product to us .

Only for rediculously large turbos on dyno queens with bad suspension setup.

The retardedly slow boost response makes the first 1/8th mile worthless. Some massive mid range punch with good chassis setup would result in much lower ETs and lower traps.

I've come to the conclusion that Dynojets/Dynapacks/Dyno Dynamics units are calibrated 15-21% higher than Mustangs. Not that I care, because it's all about the car performing, and the dyno is a tuning tool not a junk number generator, but it's a good rule of thumb for figuring out what would be a good race.

However, after walking away from a "590 whp" 99-00 Si in a 325 whp pump gas 93 CX, I've come to the conclusion RLZ has fiddled their Dynapack calibrations 20-30% higher than they should be to create hype. Now, I might be offbase making that statement since the "590 whp" vehicle might have had some mechanical issue - glazed spark plugs to charge pipe leak to head gasket issues - but it is also not the first time I've heard allegations that someone's car read substantially lower off RLZ's dyno. Frankly, thier 490 whp claims in their 2000 lb '92 DX shop car sound about right for the high 9's they were turning last I paid attention, but 490 doesn't sound nearly as impressive as 590 when it comes time to feel like you got your money's worth, does it?

Ya all these 800 whp who's cars and traps of low 140's is complete crap and I cant believe people eat it up. Tinkering with dynos is a fun little game. I always bring up my personal experince working on a 9 sec honda. DHR ran 9.60's with 450-480 whp, 7 years ago. Traps in the low 140's and in hardly a light car. All the hype of chasing these large #'s has made more than one company to make false claims. All on a small turbo 60-1 and a simple log manifold set up too just to prove it doesnt take 50 grand in parts to run really hard. I sat around at Harv's Dyno proably the guy who has tuned more FI turbo cars than anyone in History has a youngster watching alot of the OG hondas that were running low 9's making in the high 500's. So according to most people on H-T cars now make 300+whp in a light chassis hb and still dont make the same times or traps has they did 5 years ago at 500-600 done by people who actually deserve to be noticed.

Has far has dyno #'s go I dont trust them the track doesnt lie. I tuned the dhr all motor crx. Car was dynoed in california and well car ran mid 11's and well #'s were well off to be blunt for a car to trap in the 116-118 range. All on dynapack. Word came back that an old rival of DHR didnt want his all motor record broken so the kid most of tickered the dyno has we went back right after running 11.40's in a 2000 full body crx to silver state dyno its a dynojet in Vegas. Didnt touch a thing. car laid down 272 whp and 190 lb tq pretty much what basic math told us was correct. Either way Im ranting but the dyno game is out of control.

I know, all fun.

The thing about dynapacks is that they are very good tuning tools. As for trying to relate dyno numbers, bleh, who cares. Consistancy is all that matters.

Rolling dynos have a lot of problems in that area. With the pack you don't have to worry about different tires, rims, alignment, how hard the vehicle is strapped down, etc. When you bring it to the track, it's even more inconsistent. Now you have driver skill, weather, track conditions, suspension setup, tires. Even more problems than on a dynojet.

It doesn't matter how much power the car makes. It's a tuning tool. It's used to see differences, changes in the numbers, progress, not peak numbers that people use to sling their products around. When I look for products, I don't look at dyno numbers, because their are too many inconsistencies and BS. I look at specs, math, physics. That's what it all comes down to. The dyno is just one piece to getting down the track the in the least amount of time.
