Why the ---- would you do that?

The market is down, now is the time to start buying ---- that you know is going to come back up again if you're able to. Getting a large ------- settlement would qualify as able to.

Houses will come back, people aren't going to stop -------, nor living in houses. So eventually the people are going to need a house.

Seriously buy up gold, stock in power supply companies, as well as stock in guns. Now would be a very good time for that.

If history holds to repeat itself, any time there's a general unrest in a populous, they get more armed as a precaution.

buy a nice house for like 150-200K and toss like 100K down on it. rock like a 400 a month mortgage and have the other 100 to invest in IRA and cars lol. just stick like 25 atleast in an IRA. then use your left over50-75K for furniture tv's nice ----, tools and just have no bills. buy a nice DD and pay for it. own all your ---- man, no bills.

You can buy ---- to make you happy now or start some kind of business to make you rich for life. I just bought a magazine/ book full of thousands of available franchises you could easily start about 1/4th of them for that kind of money. Look around and see who the rich people are, they are the people who took a risk and started a business take 100k and buy some kind of franchise in an upcoming area, hold 50k to fall back on, and don't start living big until the money from the business pours in. or buy a three flat live in one of the units rent out the other 2 and have a constant source of income forever. With that sort of free money you could live pretty large the rest of your life.

True story. friends of ours helped one of their mothers sell a Condo or house or soemthihng. it was like 150K but she told them that if they sold it they would get like 15K of it. so they did and they used like 10K of it for a Down payment on a house. SO they sit there for just a bit like 6 months or so and do a few home repairs, nothing like add a room but like finish a room and put up chair molding well then they went and refinanced teh house and got it re-appraised and used the new found equity in that for a downpayment in another home. Now that they had 2 homes they could qualify for all sorts of ---- cause now they were renters. so they got a work van at auction and got to right that off to business and all the tools and so on. so they repeated that like 2 times and now they are straight. they got I think 5 counting the one they live in and just got a new SS chevy truck and 350Z both are 27 and only took them the 3 years ive known them to do it. I met them right after they bought the second house, granted he works for realistate lawyers (he wont go into detail i have no idea what the ---- that means) but i have the feeling he knows what hes doing.

I know its been said, but buy a house or if you have something to pay off, obviously do that too.

spend a 150k in land in a area that will be devoloped in a few years.

take 5k put it in a 1 year cd
take 5k put it in a 2 year cd
take 5k put it in a 3 year cd
take 5k put it in a 4 year cd
take 10k put it in a 5 year cd.

After each year is up turn it into a 5 year cd. in 30years you will have Retirement.

now you have 20k to play with. Have fun

What is your current living situation? If you already have a house and paying mortgage then invest in gold. It's a guaranteed money maker. If not buy a decent house (hell one you can get cheaper and fix up to make more profit would be good too).

Any certain reason you settled? Probably could have got more.
