Default crx sunroof fill

my sunroof is starting to rust up thru the paint, (thats less then a year old) and the cable that runs it slips. I got it closed at the end of summer and i never touch it. anyway, me and my buddy discussed making it just a glass window, that doesnt move. i know they sell fillers and ----, but i figured the glass would be kind of cool. How would it affect the structure of the car? the glass guy i know said it wouldnt be a problem
