i dont know about the h22 going faster. there are a couple of locals here with them, and they are getting beat up on by usdm itr swaps. (yes i know the itr swap costs more)

actually 1 guy just finished his swap 2 months ago, and already sold the car... because it wasnt fast.

heavy up front. yeah it'll drop your car in the front. only because its like 60 lbs heavier than a regular b series swap. have u ever seen a b16 or b18 in a civic. it also drops the front a bit. there are many ways of going about this. get custom spring rates for the car. thats what my cousin and friends did. boosted sohc in the high 13's. possible. but its not easier than u think. u need slicks. it will not grip. so on the street the h22 civic will win. on a roll the turbo civic would fly by. and the h22 swap is only 3300 if u do everything yourself. that includes everything. if u do it yourself. but if u dont then your looking at 4500. and u can keep ac and possibly power steering. u might have to hack something for powersteering in an eg. but im sure in an ek u can keep both. kept ps in my cousins h22 Integra
you just prove my point. It cost more money to put an h22 engine in a civic to just make 200 hp than to boost your civic and make well over 200 hp. With 3400-4000 g's i could make my civic a hell of alot faster with that much money than putting a prelude engine in my car.

so you wanna Prelude, or u just wanna go fast. myself and many others can help you spend your money and go faster

I thought that the SH model was just an up-graded suspension version. bigger brakes and stiffer spring rates and that kinda ----. Im not getting in this arguement.

yeah it does cost more. but how reliable is a h22 compared to a turbo d series?? i have nothing against it. but in the end the h22 is gonna be faster. more potential to make power. but honestly IMO i would get a gsr swap than an h22. cause B series have more potential since theres more ---- out there for them than an h22. no one really makes performance goodies for it. but thats just me

well the d series can be reliable if you tune it well and not up the boost. I say 8 psi max would make it really reliable. And your right the h22 has more potential to make more power because of its stock horsepower but if you were going to turbo it it cant handle as much boost as a d and that would require engine work. Its actually cheaper to build the d series than the h22. Building the d would make it more realiable so you wouldn't have to worry about that anymore. basically they both have there strong points. But my point is that you could make more power paying much less with the d. But like i said if you can afford it and moneys no issue then by all means do what you want...i just said i changed my mind because it was too much for me.

but yeah with turbo. u still have to think about the load. and u cant beat it all the time. even a built motor. some motors just dont last long. u can beat an h22 all day. you can do that with a turbo car. your bound to blow something. theres soo many variable's when it comes to turbo. have so many things that could go wrong. im not here to start in argument so this will be my last post in the post. haha. unless something gets me heated

I'm down with creativity and all but wouldnt you rather do a b16 or a b18c swap in your car than a h22a? A good buddy of mine put a b18c in his 93 hatch and it stayed dead even with my roomates 98 gst (even did a few passes with different drivers). H22a's are great engines in preludes but the cost doesn't match the performance in a civic. Once you pay for mounts and shift linkages you have spent way more money than you would have if you would have just bought a B16 and done some minor bolt ons. Good luck on your setup though.
