Re: 96 2.2 SUNFIRE TURBO HELP!!!!!!
slightly different motor then the one we are talking about....that has top feed injectors..and YOU can run higher than 8psi on stock block if you know what your doing....theres a guy on JBO that dyno'd 10 or 11 psi at 222whp on stock block

Re: 96 2.2 SUNFIRE TURBO HELP!!!!!!
what about them
to run them you would have to put them in the intake stream with a controller.
it is a route you can take, and can be reliable but it also has some problems
mostly just puddling in the IM can occur, which wouldn't be the best thing in the world

Re: 96 2.2 SUNFIRE TURBO HELP!!!!!!
ive been all over jbody.org and to tell you the truth i haven't found a good solution at all yet i might just build the kit run it around 5psi with stock injectors intercooled then once its all set figure out the injector problem or run a mf2 system

but as you said, anything is possible with knowledge.
the 96 motor has side feed injectors. There shouldnt be a problem in finding a set of 310-350cc injector in a side feed setup.
the idle on cold starts will be rough, but once warm will get up to temp and run fine. As well the stock ecu at a low boost level will be able to handle all the engines parameters. Not my idea of a tuning solution, but it will work in a budget build situation.
as well, if the car is an early 96 there might be a chance the car is setup on OBD-1 and not OBD2. If thats the case, then you could get a eprom burned for the car for the correct ignition and fuel tables for boost.
