Re: 91 Jetta GL turbo????
check out dustins MKII ABA16v-T, its a little much for your first VW project but its pretty nice
direct bolt in(besides wiring): any inline 4cyl before 99
or you can go VR6, it bolts in pretty easy but htere is a lot of extra stuff you need, its all OEM parts though
if you want ot fab yourself a new pass side engine mount you can swap in a 1.8t, requires standalone unless you rewire the entire car
what i would do, buy junk VR6 rado. and gets to swapping. once you get it running then you add boost.

Re: 91 Jetta GL turbo????
im not lookign for anythign REALy expensive because i have my Accord swap with ungodly amonts of money in to it.. but the jetta i was thinking i want to stay with 4 cyl and maby go with a small turbo. either another stronger 4 cyl thats direct bolt in or rebuild the stock 4 cyl and put a turbo on it HMT style

the cheapest swap would be an ABA, only ~20hp more but you get a x-flow head and a better all around engine.
you can pick up a turbo mani (~$200 new), a 48/60(~$100), IC piping(~$150), CCA FMIC ($130 right now), some 30# inj, and MS for managment. thats the bulk of what you would need.
