Default 4 door civic

my girlfriends father has a 95 4 door civic thats in his driveway that he offered to sell me after i asked him about it.

itsa 95 4 door DX i believe, 5 speed, its got 400k on the body but only 150k on the motor, he offered to rebuild teh motor and put all new seals, bottom end bearings and head gasket and new axles on it for me if i want it (he used to be a mechanic)

how much do you guys think this would be worth. and how much more does a 4 door weigh over a 2 door of the same model?

im looking to do a sweet turbo d series build, and a turbo b18 when i finally blow the d series

BTW i know a lot about turboing, i have done lots f research so i dont need those "theres a lot more to turboing than you think" replys

thanks!

im probably gonna get some type of flamming for asking this but, i searched and couldnt really find what i was looking for, i guess i suck at searching

I'm pretty sure that the 4 doors are the same weight as the coupes, if not close...

With all of that, if the body is great, I'd give him $2500.

I got my civic 4 door with rear quarter rust for a good deal with 160k, see what range he is looking at.

he origionally told me 2000, but then he was saying that if anyone was to come and wanna buy it he woudl ask 3000, so i think i can get it between 2000 and 2500

as for the rust, i just asked my girl to go outside and look.............................................. .................................................. ....................................shes inside now and says that theres the regular one on the top of the drivers side wheel well and one small rust spot on the bottom of the drivers side door that has been there since he got it ahd never gotten any bigger

BTW im in canada so that 2000-2500 is canadian

these cars, in perfect condition with 170k miles go for $4000 here. so $2500 would be a damn good deal.

and 2500 in canadian, buy it if it runs good. any pics of the car?

no pics, ill try and snap some this weekend if i go over to her place.

Yeah like sinister said they go for ridiculas prices around here. I'm gonna go talk to him again about it and see what the deal is, i know theres 2 other people that said they would buy it but he wants to wait and see if i want it first, and he didnt offer to do all the work to it for them.

i know EF hatchs are going cheap here right now and icould always get one of those or a mk2 golf, but im seriously considering this 4 door

400k on the body is alot to work with. If you can get it for 2k that isn't too shabby. I paid 1500 for my 94 4dr winter beater , it's pretty rusty since it was from Nova Scotia.

any other opinions on the car, price wise? also how much would a used d-series motor with 160k go for normally (canadian prices)... theres a guy offering me one, but i dont know what would be a fair offer or even what they regularly go for
