Default Machining a turbine housing??

I bought a T3/T04B recently and was looking to upgrade the turbine wheel from a stage 1 to a stage 3 so that it was better suited to my VG30ET. I'd like to know if the .82 turbine housing can be machined for the upgrade? One source told me that the turbine housing was the same for ( stage 1, 3, 5) just with different machining specs.

The turbine housings are the same, they are bored differently for the wheels. Get someone with turbo machining experience though. I learned from experience that if they look good but aren't quite right in the "slot" area (area were exhaust enters) they don't spool. hth, Mark

Thanks for the heads up and confirmation. And, yes not within my skill set to machine the housing.
