Default Looking for some input!

I have a d16y8 in a 97 Civic Coupe

I want to reach 180 to 200whp while retaining A/C and P/S..

Also, I don't want to build the motor..maybe just a cosmetic headgasket, and ARP headstuds.

I'd like the power to be mid-range because it will be my daily driver..

I would like to know my options!

Thanks in Advance..

thats is very do-able. there are many bolt on turbo kit for these cars. stock motor with 10 psi boost should get you your goal easy.

600 - 800 is my budget.

I hope this will be doable.

Thanks.

a custom tune can be anywhere from 250.00-500.00.
larger injectors-100.00-200.00
boost piping-200.00 if you do it yourself. a lot more if you purchase vehicle specific piping
intercooler-100.00
turbo manifold-100.00-200.00
downpipe-100.00-200.00
wideband afr gauge-200.00
boost gauge-50.00
misc-300.00-500.00
cometic hg-100.00
arp studs-100.00

Okay, thanks for the pricing..

What manifold/turbo set up is out there that will allow me to retain a/c and p/s but also meet my power goal?

im not much into the jap cars but from what i see listed a lot of people use a t25 or a t3/t4 turbo. i dont think you will have any issues with losing your ac using either of these turbo's. i think you will need the top mount turbo manifold in order to clear the ac compressor.

If you have fabrication skills and tools, I'd say this is a possibility. If you're going to reply on purchased items to make this all happen, than I have to agree...no way. For under $1000, you could find a decent used turbo, fabricate up a log style manifold, and do some "creative" plumbing for your intake and pressure pipes. There wouldn't be an intercooler. For fuel in your budget, I'd explore the possibility of having a large injector plumbed just after your throttle body for the additional fuel needs. For non boost driving (cruise), your stock fuel system would function normally, and when under boost, the additional injector would provide the needed fuel to keep your engine alive. I've seen these injectors controlled with a cheap adjustable pressure switch. If you don't have the technical abilities to make "creative" work, than I wouldn't even start to attempt this project.

This can be done cheap, but will require much more input on your part.

Good luck.

Yeah, I was thinking t25..

The top mount wouldn't work out, I believe I need log style manifold..

Thanks for the input though.

As I said...as long as you don't mind doing a lot of engineering along the way, and are either adept at fabrication and have the tools, or have friends who will do it for free, than its possible. As far as the tuning is concerned...what exactly is your plan there? Do you already have a tunable ECU? The stock OBD2 Honda ecu won't allow you to do squat...this is why I suggested just doing an additional injector(s) and either a homebrew injector control with some pressure switches, or doing an HKS or something similar. Buying an HKS would certainly blow your budget though.
