Default noob fitting ihi vf13 to 180cc 1cyl

so i am a 18yo student mechanic with alot of experience in go-kart engines, and recently i was given a 180cc ohv 6.5hp carb engine for free. i am planning to build a dune buggy with it, but the friend whom im building it for, wanted to put a turbo on it ( and it also seemed real fun to me ). i got a sweet deal getting 2 turbos ( ihi vf13, and ihi vf14, from i believe a subaru legacy ) for just €35,-. so now im looking into how to make it work, especially the oil feed. i am a complete noob at turbo builds ( i know how turbos work and thats it basicly ), but i am a crafty mechanic who can do all the hand work.

my question: has anybody got any suggestions on how to make it work, how do i feed the oil from the engine to the turbo, do i need a pull through or blow trough setup, and can i run the turbos without cooling fluid? ( they apparently have 2 hoses on it in wich i saw some cooling fluid residue. and since i use way less exhaust flow ( 1cyl only ), and also need way less boost. so at this lower pressure, will my wastegate actuator still work when i close the throttleplate?

thanks, Evan.

Those things are going to be way too big - the only time I've seen an automotive turbo put on a small engine like that, they had to use compressed air to spool it! You need a dedicated small engine turbo.

You can omit the water cooling, and might be able to get the oil flow from a sending unit port. If there isn't one, you will have to drill and tap the gallery.

actiually it does spool. i already put the mounting flange directly on the end of the muffler, and even tough it did leak alot of air and a muffler was in between, it spooled fine.

my engine has no oil pressure tough, it just sits in the low part of the engine and gets thrown around by a ''stick'' on the big end. thats why i need to make some sort of oil pump.

You'd probably need a belt driven oil pump.
