WTB: B-Series block B18B/A

like it says, i need a bare block in good shape. i will have it bored to 81.5. no cracked sleeves or crazy madness just a decent shape b18b block with the girdle

I have one, but it's prized. $100 plus the shipping and I'd do it. Been through the parts washer 4 years ago and sat on the shelf ever since. Block, crank, girdle.

You do NOT want a B18A block, sleeves are junk.

Re: WTB: B-Series block B18B/A

Do b18b's have a girdle?

I was under the ASSumption it was only b18c's and b16's for some reason

Re: WTB: B-Series block B18B/A

Only B18C1/5 have girdles. LS don't rev that high, and B16 are poorly designed junk engines.

Re: WTB: B-Series block B18B/A

a 30 dollar block would be sweet if one is in decent shape and had the caps. let me know a b18b is preferable

how are the sleeves better on a b18b than a b18a......

Re: WTB: B-Series block B18B/A

Something about pulling the head off of a low mileage B18A thinking you're going to build something out of it and finding large chunks missing out of the aluminum supporting the upper portion of the liners. That, and the way the sleeves crack.

B16B are girdle motors with the correct deck height that some faggot put the wrong crank into. Acceptable core to build something with, IMO.
