Where you located? I got some long runner (used) ceramic coated headers. Will they work with vortec heads though?

Edit: nevermind, I'm a moron. Saw your location.

I've got a new summit timing chain set for a 350 v8 for my 75 malibu I'll sell for $10 + $10 shipping.

Brand new, don't know why I never used it. I think since the one on my car was fine, and I said ---- it, I'll sell this one later.

If you're doing a cam install, this is something standard to replace really.

PM me if you want it.

Sounds like that cam has too much lift for that vortec head if the valvetrain is OEM. Be careful w/that.

Those vortec heads are perfect bolt-ons, and cheap, but they do have some limitations. I'm hoping to install a pair on my 350 to up the compression by over a point. I think I spotted a set in the junkyard. Right now it has some 76cc smog-ass 1975 heads on it, which suck.

NO!

Just turbo it! Do the trick where you flip the universal block hugger headers to make a manifold out of them (as the guy with the big-ass monte carlo did a while back). I regret not boosting my Malibu... But who knows, a big turbo is hopefully in the future for it.

you can build a 400hp all motor small block for what it takes to turbo it

400hp in a big-ass chevy doesnt really do too much.... :3

But w/a big ass turbo, BIG hp isn't far away.

Haha.

Good point. In a light Nova yes, in a mid-70s 4000lb boat, it would still be slow.

I've got a full pre-86 block. Vortec heads, Edlebrock performer intake mani, comp cams XE268 cam, Flat-top after market pistons(10.5:1 from my math), knife-edged crank. Mallory HEI Dist. setup. I was going to drop it in an s10 but got side-tracked(un-motivated) on the project, now the block just sits sealed in plastic in my shed. Nothing wrong with the unit minus the minor dissassembly I've done to verify the internals when I bought it.

$600 as is picked up. I'm in NC.
