Re: b18 vtec head

If the b16 and b18 heads are the same price, i would buy a b16 head since it is a higher flowing head. just my two cents.

I have a b16 head that is already tapped for LS-vtec. It is complete exept for the valve cover. Has an OBD0 distributor with an MSD external blaster2 coil. I am looking to get $500 shipped

I can get you a b16 head minus cams for $375 shipped.
or a complete b16 head for $450 shipped.

Re: b18 vtec head

you actually think its better to put a b16 head on a b18 block. you dont think itd be better to put a b18 gsr head on it?

Re: b18 vtec head

Yeah it is better. I know a few guys that put b16 heads on their gsr's because they're better heads.

Re: b18 vtec head

B16A2 heads DO flow better than GSR heads so i dont know what you are talking about.

Re: b18 vtec head

actualy, gsr heads have smaller combustion chambers and bigger ports than a b16. the intake manifold stock is the flaw, if u were to stick a b16 head on a gsr block it would yeild much lower cp witch would make it slower, but better for turbo, if i was gona use a head for all motor ls/vtec i would use a gsr to get the most cp out of it, but if i were to use a b16 head it would be for turbo because on a ls bottom with ls pistons its about 9-6-1. but wiht a gsr head its more like 10-1-1 or around there. gsr heads also have better cams, about 3-5hp difference. but what i like is a gsr combustion chamber, not round but kind of a rectancle or oval for more flow. idk what u guys are thinking when u say b16 heads are better, i dont think so, im pretty dam sure if u put a gsr head on a ls bottom it will yeaild more hp than a b16 head. but to maximise a gsr head u have to get some kind of aftermarket intake mani. just my .02$

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=615254 Your right about compression but wrong about flow which was the original point i was trying to make.
