Re: FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE d16y8 short block
If someone takes it, I've got a good crank and a rod that could go in it (I think it's got a y7 piston mounted tho...). Throw in some bearings and you've got a working bottom end. Ooor, if you want them I'll sell em to you cheap and YOU've got a working motor. Won't help with the cow tho. ;)

Re: FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE d16y8 short block
you only need to have the journals machined and get make sure you check bearing clearance the d16y8 blocks have different bearing per rod or main I can't remember..fyi the d16y8 have elliptical shaped journals , d16a6 have spherical thats why so many d16y8's spin rod bearings..just found this out couple weeks ago from my buddy who is a honda-tech..

Re: FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE d16y8 short block
hmmm. Didn't think there was a difference. So why don't manufacturers of forged rods, like Eagle and Crower make two different ones? ??? Every one I've seen has simply been D16, with no further breakdown. If there really was a difference, wouldn't they (seing as these are costly, "high performance" parts after all) need to provide two seperate lines, rather than just "d16 series"?

Re: FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE d16y8 short block
hey cool man, awfully nice of you to give away a free block. I assume its not stripped? If not I'll gladly take it off your hands. I'll be coming through Dallas either tommorow or Monday on my way to Amarillo and can pick it up. BTW-how much does it weigh and could it be fit in a box? Reason I ask is I'll be driving my EK hatch.
Would you happen to have any other y8 stuff your trying to get rid of? Respond back or shoot me a PM and I'll call you to set arrangments and get directions. |
