Default Shipping to Canada is good now.

Just to let everyone know. UPS is on strike in Canada, so if you plan on shipping pick a different company because Canada will not recieve packages

maybe this should be a temporary sticky??

my mom delivers mail for the postal service. Yes, the holiday season sucks, shittier weather, more packages, more mail in general (christmas cards). Couple that with the fact that if ups is on strike, then obviously people are gonna use other ways to ship stuff, and so there will be even more packages sent out via the postal service (fedex and dhl too probably). I guess just keep this in mind and be a little more patient for any package sent around this time. later,

also a note to sellers, shipping packages to canada VIA UPS is a bad idea, I recently got a clutch shipped from the USA to my dads office via UPS(i had asked for this because my dad has a ups account and for another reason) it cost the shipper about 18 bucks american (cheap) to ship it here, but cost me an extra 78 bucks in shipping charges, yes some of that was duty and taxes, but the rest was bullshit charges the only UPS has.

also, canada has some issues with the customs service right now, and there is somewhat of a delay, so to buyers, get your packages shipped to a buisness address, this way, (usually) the item gets cleared by a customs broker, which saves you plenty of time.

so, don't use UPS (even when they arn't on strike) and its not a wise idea to ship to a residential adress either. USPS Is the best and cheapest way to ship to canada in my educated opinion.

you could have saved yourself 78$ by asking the shipper to check off the "Gift" box on the shipping label.

I check off that box regardless just because i'm a nice guy.

UPS, USPS etc all charge duty.

You got charged alot cuz you shipped it to a business address and ended up paying brokerage fee's i bet too..

i get things shipped to my work all the time but I dont put the company name so brokerage = None. you have alot to learn young padawan.
