LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

6 Attachment(s)
i have a nice LS block with no rods or pistons. it was checked by a machine shop. it needs to be honed and and assembled. the crank is perfect also.

i also have an LS head that just needs to be assembled. its complete minus the distributor. but comes with intake and obd2 valve cover or b20. im not sure. i stick to single cam stuff.

the brown ---- on the crank an in the cylinders is grease that i put in there after it was checked by the machine shop to keep everything nice. i have had this thing for almost 3 years thinking about using it, but i like my D. also, not pictured is all of the main and cam caps in bags with lube

i would like it all to go together for $150 plus shipping. i dont have a clue what shipping would be for it, but i will do my best to make it as cheap as possible.
MAKE AN OFFER i seized my d15b last night and need to rebuild it. make an offer so i can pay for machine work and gaskets. will trade for a complete gasket kit if you pay shipping both ways

TRADE FOR RUNNING D

i am in St. Augustine FL if anyone wants to pic it up

Re: LS block and head

b18a. i will seperate, but i would rather not. you dont happen to know what shipping would be on that do you? i can try to check into it tomorrow but with this storm that may not be possible.

Re: LS block and head

I don't know what it would be, but could give you a ups account to throw it on. I'd just need the dimensions, weight, and starting zip.

Re: LS block and head

Re: LS block and head

get it shipped via freight, it only cost me $4 to get my HF welder shipped to me. took 10 days though

Re: LS block and head

DHL is really cheap on bigger heavier items, I shipped a dohc vtec head from ny to ca for 50 bucks through them. UPS wanted 84....

Re: LS block and head

just for fun I will say $300 shipped for everything or $200 shipped for the block, crank, and caps. $150 shipped for the head, intake and valve cover

I would really like to avoid shipping it. It's not the shipping of it that bothers me so much as the money. Shipping engines seems like it's more expensive than it's worth

fixed it for you

how desperate are you, aka how fast do you want this thing?

Scott-EP 09-26-2008 11:12 AM

Re: LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

time wise I'm not too desperate, I could just really use my car. What are you getting at with your question?

onlyflash944 09-26-2008 11:14 AM

Re: LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

I'm busy this weekend, wouldn't be able to travel if you wanted to meet somewhere. What are you wanting to do if you're not going to ship this thing? It's a pretty long drive...

onlyflash944 09-26-2008 11:21 AM

Re: LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

google says 600 mi 10 hours. i'm definatley interested in one of your cdm turbos, ic, wastegate, and maybe a bov. i'd be willing to come meet you part way, but it would be tits if i could place an order and we swap everything so no shipping. kinda what im getting at, but if it doesn't happen then whatever

Scott-EP 09-26-2008 11:25 AM

Re: LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

I did the math and it would be cheaper for me to meet you in SC than to ship it. Let me talk to the woman and see if she is up for a trip and we can work out the details if you want to do it.

What kind of shape is it in? Does it smoke or anything?

onlyflash944 09-26-2008 11:43 AM

Re: LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

When I bought the car, the clutch was shot. Motor started and ran fine. I don't remember any smoke, but I never drove it on any roads, just got it running enough to move around in the driveway and gorage. I pulled the d15b8 out to replace with a z6 and tranny with a good clutch that I had laying around. The engine has sat for about 6 months, I've turned it over by hand occasionally. Used it to mock up a exhaust mani not too long ago. I think it might have needed a cam seal or it was some oil from somewhere. How complete do you need it, I've pulled a few sensors and the dizzy off because I needed parts out of them. You want pictures, let me know.

Scott-EP 09-26-2008 11:50 AM

Re: LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

yea, hook me up with some pics. It doesn't have to be too complete. I am pulling a running engine and putting it in it's place. Has the head been unbolted? I am trying to avoid needing to buy any gaskets or anything. the running one I am pulling out isn't going to be running much longer though. I ran it for about 40 miles with no oil and now it sounds like there's a hand full of marbles in it. It also only idles when cold. Once it warms up it dies

head has NOT ben removed. timing belt looks decent, i've pulled the oil pan off but have one for you if you want it, might need a gasket there, or a liberal amount of rtv might get you by.

Attachment 14256

the only pictures i have of it before i pulled it. I can get you a couple pictures of how it is right now if you can wait till like 2pm

Scott-EP 09-26-2008 12:14 PM

Re: LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

sounds good. I would like to have an oil pan on it for transporting it if you have one to spare. I don't have any spares. The more pics the better. LOL. No hurry though, I am at work using my phone and pics are hit and miss on it

I just saw your post about CDM parts. I will need you to prepay cause with my upcoming wedding I can't afford to stock much. I will discount the shipping amount though.

ive got an oil pan that will suffice for transportation, just won't work if you need to run it.

TPS sensor is gone, and I might take one for the emissions bs, but thats because my current car's is broke

also, this motor doesn't have P/S, that pump is on there for fabrication purposes only. neither the P/S or the a/c will come with the motor

Scott-EP 09-26-2008 04:42 PM

Re: LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

looks good. The missing accesories are fine. I don't have ac and I have a good p/s on my car now. Sensors are no big deal either. A bad oil pan is fine, I have a good one on my car now, I just don't want to mess up mine during transporting

Scott-EP 09-26-2008 07:07 PM

Re: LS block and head TRADE FOR RUNNING D

holy ----, i just noticed how small the exhaust ports are on that. i thought all single cam head castings were the same. its ok though, nothing 8psi on a 60-1 cant fix. lol
