Garrett T3 (Freshly Rebuilt!)
 

My Garrett I have is a standard Garrett T3 45 Trim (.42/.48)...freshly rebuilt by Honeywell/Garrett. I have proof if needed. Disregard the studs in the turbo in the second picture, I have brand new studs installed on it now, and will include the lock washers and locking nuts for it! ZERO SHAFT PLAY, this thing is mintyyyyy...

Its externally gated turbo, spools QUICK!!! Had no problems prior to rebuild, was rebuilt while it was off my car, basically as a preventative measure. This turbo would be great for a D series car, or any autocross car that is looking for quick spool, but power capability of up to around 280-300whp!!! I need something with a bigger compressor to make my power goals!

280 to 300WHP from a T3-45 trim??? thats hilarious.... You'd be hard pressed to get 250hp at the flywheel with that compressor...

The T3 45trim garrett wheel has max flow rate of about 23lb/min. So using the industry excepted estimate of 10lb/min = 100hp (flywheel), thats only 230hp (flywheel)....

Also, I guess your the guy who bought that T3 super60 turbo that was on here. I'd measure the wheel to varify that you got a "super 60".

A super 60 wheel will have a 1.900" inducer and a 2.367" exducer, I've seen many regular 60 trims quoted to be Super 60's. a regular 60 trim will have the same exducer of 2.367" but a slightly smaller inducer of 1.830"

Yes I do know the differences between super and 60 trim, haha man I made 210 UNTUNED on 9.5 psi on this turbo, stop using industry standards and hear say...not capable of 230+ at the flywheel?!?! Check out d-series.org noob, they are making more then me with single cams! Do I need the Dyno sheet to prove my numbers, I have it in hand...

It was not a 60 trim at all either actually, turned out to be a 42mm wheel.

As for the noob part, I may new on this forum but in now way new to the industry. I'd be will to bet that I've been building, tuning, dyno'ing and racing for as long as you've been alive. I've logged well over 3000hrs on dyno's (both engine and chassis). The rough estimate of 10lbs/min =100hp is proven off of 1000's of known dyno runs.

Yes, those numbers are getting further off with newer engines because of being more efficient thus having a lower BSFC.

Still though, even with more efficient engines, the compressor starts to choke and stalls beyond about 23lbs/min. That's why I said 250hp flywheel. With a very efficient engine, you might be lucky to get 260 to 270, but that's pushing it. Again, that's flywheel.

In the end, you can think and or believe what you want, you are human and have a mind of your own but you might want to do more studying into all this, especially dyno's.
