GA 1991 Honda Civic Hatch DX with d16a6 not running good shell $300 EXTRAS
6 Attachment(s)
This is a 1991 Honda Civic Hatch DX body with a 1990 d16a6 si engine and transmission w/ LSD clutch (Heavy Duty Plate with 6-puck sprung disk). I tried doing the MPFI conversion, but it didn't work out, I think it was the ecu which is now gone, you will have to get a new ecu. The engine was "devconned" when rebuilt, which included bore and hone, new pistons and rings, new main and rod bearings, all new gaskets including head gasket, new valve seals, and valves seated, head and block surfaced and thoroughly cleaned by machine shop, toga high volume oil pump. Compression checked at 180 on all 4 when I checked it about a month ago, which was after I stopped driving it. Also includes a second set of steelies with tires at about 80% tread left, SI seats and SI dash (both black), also SI gauge cluster with tachometer. 2.25" exhaust with magnaflow resonator, hi-flow cat, and muffler(muffler will need replacing, the rear fell off while driving and is scraped through the metal. Any other questions, just PM me.
I will also throw in an HF manifold, greddy turbo timer, autometer oil psi gauge, and 1G dsm bov all in working conditon. got backed into in a parking lot at 7 mph, the fender and door are bent in and rub together when the door is opened, no frame damage, and the door still opens very easily Attachment 28806 Attachment 28807 Attachment 28808 Attachment 28809 Attachment 28810 Attachment 28811 ONLY asking $300, pickup only, no delivery Thanks, Keenan |

Well, on one hand you're one of the nicest guys on the planet, from all I can tell. On the other... You're number 1 poster here and how often are you in a turbo car, even as a passenger? If my comment stung you, maybe you should man up and do something car related with all the free time you have?
I dunno, I feel half embarrassed for saying that to you, Danno, but I said it without thinking because I'm pretty sure it's the truth. I overreacted and pointed that out in a harsh fashion because the last thing that needs to happen on this planet is one of the last clean ED chassis goes to you (instead of xeno) to do nothing with, and then sell to a local riceboy to ruin. :-\ |
Re: GA 1991 Honda Civic Hatch DX with d16a6 not running good shell $300 EXTRAS
Don't have the room for even an extra car right about now, although I could make room if I really wanted (and although its been considered, I think the rule of thumb is that buick fwd's probably dont make good boost project daily drivers). Although I do have 95% of the turbo parts for a D series, thats why I was thinking this might be good. But then again I don't even think I'd have the money for both.
Have I ever done a MPFI swap? No. Can I learn? Yes. I tend to learn quickly and I wouldn't have a problem with staring at wiring schemata for a while seeing what I need to do. I just don't need my balls busted every single time something technical comes up, thats all really. The fact that you even insinuate that I'd do nothing with the car then resell shows your high regard for me. If you must bring up the Accord project, I did my part, it's not my fault the owner has taken 14 months to decide if he wants to wrap it up or not. Hell, all I asked is if it needed an ECU. The way he worded it sounded like he fubar'd something with the ecu itself. A simple "It needs the kinks worked out of the MPFI swap Danno" would've sufficed proficiently, I mean really. :-\ |
Re: GA 1991 Honda Civic Hatch DX with d16a6 not running good shell $300 EXTRAS
And regarding the free time... why do you think I want the car? Other than your apparent conclusion that I'll buy it to resell to said riceboy (which is entirely inaccurate). I want to get a car to be a project of my own. A clean chassis like this could easily last me many years and many different screwups.. I mean setups. You don't find many clean honda's around here, and when you do, they're usually 6x what I'd be willing to pay.

Re: GA 1991 Honda Civic Hatch DX with d16a6 not running good shell $300 EXTRAS
Its not the ecu its the fact the car was wired up wrong. b10,b12 most likely crossed. There have been more dpfi cars messed up converted to mpfi than clean crx's left in the world its nothing new.

She is almost done and rocking a forged turbo D-series! The tag will say creampuff!! For all unsuspecting foes who stumble upon it. Here is what she looks like right now. http://www.mr2guru.com/gallery/v/Puff/. I am going to tint the windows and add a HMT sticker and that is all my friends. >:D
