Like i said it is 100k miles old of course it needs a cleaning and stuff. I take it your EWW comment meant that it was dirty??

 

ya that ---- is pretty dirty. anybody think that rust on the crank pulley side will cause problems? can you get some pictures of the bottom? how do you plan on shipping?

 

i was talkin about the cyl walls.. im no used engine expert, but is that normal?

 

I noticed that as well, but I didn't think much of it since I will hone the walls if I get this block.

 

This block is actually cleaner than the one that I decided to rebuild. I wanted to rebuild this one into a 2.0 but decided to just sell it because the motor that i put together is running great and I am getting my HMT kit together to get boosted to 8 PSI soon, it runs fine and compression is 160 psi in all 4 cylinders that was just with changing the rings honing and reusing the old pistons.
so if you are planning to change pistons etc.. you should get much nicer compression and the bottom just has the same oil residue stuff that came off when I used a driveway steem blaster thingy on mine.
