Re: apexi sitc used(of course)

www.google.com revealed....

"The Super ITC adjusts ignition timing by +/- 15% by modifying the crank/cam angle signal on certain vehicles. The timing curve is adjusted by setting the timing at 5 different points along the RPM range and the values between are interpolated by the ITC from those 5 points. The Super ITC used in conjunction with the Super AFC fuel controller creates a new dimension of tuning with piggyback computers. Apexi recommends having the Super ITC installed and tuned by authorized shops."

Too bad it doesn't do retard by boost pressure, or I'd be on it...

here ya go, sorry. this should explain what it is. i don't have a digi cam so i might can email someone who's interested pics of it if they'll be patient to where i can get ahold of my brothers camera. lowballers welcome, i payed $175shipped for it. will part with it for a lot less. as far as vouches, i've never had a problem when i've sold things here before. dude, our post count is about the same but i signed up about 3 years ago, i think. i just don't post often b/c i don't have a turbo car. i'm a senior member at sohchonda.com. a member with a good trader rating at d-series.org. anything else you'd like to ------' know.lol

I really wasn't going to get into it, because it is your for sale post after all. But since you ask....

My feeling is this.... The reason to retard is to avoid detonation/pre-ignition. The higher the boost level, the more potential there is for detonation, more so than just by RPM level alone. Since you could be at many different RPMs, and still not be boosting to the level needed for retard, then retard by boost level would seem a much better way of doing it, like the BTM type of solution.

For example, if you are running along at 65MPH, at part throttle, you may not be at full boost. But since the SITC is reading RPM, the timing is being retarded when it doesn't need to be. Sure this may not be such a terrible thing, it just seems more correct to retard only when needed. Retard by boost seems like a more accurate way to do it.

makes sense. thanks. it's just a a simple type of timing controller that has been discontinued. the powerfc has the same timing controller in it. this one was just put out before the powerfc was. i'd seriously let it go for $100shipped firm.
