The higher the boost level, the more potential there is for detonation, more so than just by RPM level alone. Since you could be at many different RPMs, and still not be boosting to the level needed for retard, then retard by boost level would seem a much better way of doing it, like the BTM type of solution. For example, if you are running along at 65MPH, at part throttle, you may not be at full boost. But since the SITC is reading RPM, the timing is being retarded when it doesn't need to be. Sure this may not be such a terrible thing, it just seems more correct to retard only when needed. Retard by boost seems like a more accurate way to do it. Craig |

Craig makes sense. thanks. it's just a a simple type of timing controller that has been discontinued. the powerfc has the same timing controller in it. this one was just put out before the powerfc was. i'd seriously let it go for $100shipped firm. |
