Are you still doing this deal. A buddy of mine is down if it is.

Re:$225 for 24x6x2.5 FMIC
FYI, that is NOT tube and fin - it's extruded core. The extruded is diesel core and not as efficient for high performance applications as tube and fin.
|
Re:$225 for 24x6x2.5 FMIC
So what does tube and fin look like? I was always told this was tube and fin and the other style is bar and plate.

Re:$225 for 24x6x2.5 FMIC
http://www.geocities.com/speedpartsrus/fins.jpg
The core at the top of the photo is tube and fin. The oval-shaped "tube" and the internal "fins" make up "tube and fin" core. The bottom core in the photo is bar and plate. The sold aluminum "bars" in between the "plates" of aluminum with internal fins make up "bar and plate" core. What you have is extruded core with no internal fins, only the small outcroppings you see that act as heat sinks. This core is much cheaper to manufacture but does not perform as well as bar and plate or tube and fin. It's understandable you'd be confused. There's a lot of confusion about it in the industry. Even the manufacturers call it the wrong thing in their literature. Hope that clears things up. |

Re:$225 for 24x6x2.5 FMIC
Well I will be running one here shortly so I will let everyone know how it goes.. Pwr sells the extruded but they call them tube and fin and guys are getting very good results with them.
