not really, as long as your clearances are good then you thouldn't have any problems. If your looking for a good cheap bearing, buy some toplines, they are actually king bearings repackaged at a nice discount.

Thats 8 bucks per rod, 32 bucks is stillcheap *** hell. As for the quality of clevite 77's, Titan runs them in all of their builds.

No, it was 8 bucks per set. A complete set of Clevite mains currently goes for $19, but I'm not finding a listing for their rod bearings.

Ever dealt with the King Aleculars?

I just called my local auto zone, they don't carry the clevites, they do have the sealed powers at 36 bucks a set.

I use the kings in all of my builds. Alot of the v8 guys use them. I can't say enough about them.

First 500 whp build I saw that had a turned crank ran Aleculars. The engine had been abused and detonated on, but the crank and bearings still looked great, aside from a little marring on the upper bearing half of the hole that had detonated. Ever seen a forged piston where the *rings* had broken into short fragments and twisted themselves vertical in the mangled remnants of the lands? Wierd, but obviously good bearings.
