my 89 civic is pissing me the ---- off.

i bought the car knowing there was practically no braking pressure. this is how it goes:

first pump of the pedal is crap and the pedal sinks to the floor, hardly any force but i notice the right rear grabs a little. second pump is better but goes a little less than half to the floor, and the third pump is like normal. but the pedal pressure drops again the next time i use them. with the engine off, the pedal pressure is perfect, exactly how it should be.

i replaced the master, front pads, rotors, bled the master twice and the full system once. there is no leakage, the master is not losing any fluid. the rubber lines look good as well as the hard lines. but the issue is still the same.

any ideas?

 

Brake booster

 

front wheel bearings or loose axle, the rotor is knocking the pads back.

I'm guessing RF.

 

nope, bad brake booster = stiff pedal and idle issues due to vacuum leak, wanna come replace mine?

 

it will happen at a standstill though. but i do have a really bad front left bearing.

 

time for some newer knuckles......

 

yeah my crx has shitty brake pressure not as bad as your and i know my knuckles/bearings (mostly r/f)are fucked

 

also, make sure that the check line is installed right in the vacuum line. The one that goes to the brakes booster.

 

cilper could be upside down

 

that would cause the pedal to sink?
