That was my best friend from highschool's lil brother. I'm still kinda in shock about the whole thing. He was only 18, my lil brother is 18. It's really sad.....most poeple who live in the city of palmdale knew this family and jacob. Me and his older brother use to tease him about letting him come out with us to meet girls when he was younger...lol.....he was such a great ------ kid.

 

Supposely the conductor was text messenging. That's not a joke either. So their banning cell phone useage for conductors now I believe.

 

Sounds like a "rule" meant to appease the general public that will be largely ignored by conductors. I've never seen a no-cell rule enforced except in places where you must go through a metal detector...

Sucks to hear, sounds like he was a good kid that had his ---- together.

 

Sad.

 

I really hate depressing news that in all true reality can happen to anyone any of us know at anytime. ---- like that can really bring down someone's day.....

 

Life is a gift live it while you can...

And as far as texting, they can make rules, but how do you enforce it. You cant, might scare a few with loss of job, but comon..

 

Its to bad, heard 3 other people were on the metrolink that had that accident down in la before that were also on this train. I have used metrolink alot its sad that they allow total douche bags the ability to use cell phones and takes the loss of innocent people to die for them to come to the conclusion that hundreds of peoples lifes are more important than text messaging.
